So, I’ve heard a few here mention they’ve had their SOs either believe they were cheating while on the forums, or downright created big breakups because of what was said here. I know it has happened to guys and girls here!

I have had to explain and walk on thin ice while on this forum… did not have a fight, but suspicions were high for a bit!

I believe it has more to do with you texting on your phone/iPad and them not knowing what you're up to.

A lot of people are on social media these days. If a SO is worried or jealous when a person is posting/texting on their phone, sounds like they're insecure in their relationship. Either that or they're acting from past experiences.

Terrible weekend with the girlfriend so I have no issues with responding to this thread. Before this weekend I would have been less inclined to reply.

Two or three years ago, the girlfriend had heard me mention a few topics of conversation on here and all I mentioned was BMW forum. One afternoon, after work, she called me out of the blue and wanted to stop by. She came inside in a complete frantic, then told me that she had somehow (I can't recall how she said she came across it, but let's be real and call it what it is, she was stalking me) came across my dating thread. For those of you have read from the beginning and know of my posts in there, much of it has been deleted; this was not a good thing for our relationship. The things posted in there were not intended for her eyes. She knew all the details of my past wooing, details about our relationship, sexual conquests and more. BAD TIME all the way around. We broke up over it, as some of you may recall. We even had other posters saying hi to her in the thread. Ultimately we worked things out. I don't even remember how I managed for her to still want to be with me, but we worked it out.

I think that she came here looking to see if I was flirting on line or something - no clue. Irregardlessly (you're welcome grammar nazi's - feel free to use) she didn't find what she was looking for, she found worse. I couldn't imagine reading my SO's most inner thoughts regarding dating, relationships, sex and whatnot to the extent that I have posted here. I suppose that says a lot about her.....what exactly, I'm not sure.

The reason I'm ok with posting this now is that as of last night, our 6 year relationship is most likely over. If she's still stalking me on here, none of this a problem now.

As for being considered cheating because of being on forums in general, I typically only get on here during business hours. This is how I fill my void in time while waiting on contracts, quotes and whatnot. It's better than facebook and I enjoy the conversation on here with most everyone. There isn't anything quite like the collective group of intellects, smart asses and general internet tomfoolerists that all come to gather for the love of German engineering. Long story long, I'm never on here in the evenings or weekends. In fact, once I leave work, my phone is only for text and phone calls. I'm too busy for anything else.

If my SO is worried enough about me cheating that she looks at what forums I am on...........she probably would not be my SO.

If anyone's SO thinks they're cheating then that is a deeper rooted problem that needs to be discussed and/or therapy to get over and discuss.

Trust me, if you're unable to figure out the issue... the relationship is over. Resentment will just build over time and it will end. Most likely it will end ugly too.
