Other notes:
Early 2014-2015 models had motor mount issues but many addressed under warranty. US BEV came standard with the more efficient heat pump (not an option on Rex) until around 2018 I believe. After that the heat pump became an option. Carplay became available in 2018 on the iDrive6 NBT EVO HU with the mid cycle facelift along with the i3s variant. During the chip shortage many were limited the the smaller 6.5" Business screen vs the 10.25" Professional screen. 2014-2016 60Ah (22 kwh) battery 2017 60Ah 94Ah (up to 33 kwh) battery 2018 94Ah (33 kwh) Battery 2019-2022 120Ah (42 kwh) Battery Last edited by Bummerz; 04-20-2023 at 09:17 AM.. |

Using the VIN you can find every configuration and option for a build. Most dealers don't know what they're selling and often get the specs incorrect especially the battery size. You can get great deals with a lot of research.

Well good luck. My parents are retired and I advised them get an i3. They just picked up a 2017 94 BEV with 55k miles for just over 14k in South FL.
I was eyeing this one on Auto Trader. You guys get the best deals. https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...ckType=listing |

I too am shopping for a used i3 so rather than start a new thread to ask my questions, I thought I'd try here. Basically, I'm confused on a couple of options.
First, on heat pumps, are they standard equipment on BEV's (and BEV's only?) and not available on REX's for any year, or did I read that 2019 and up REX's had them as an option? I've decoded many 2019 REX VIN's and I have not see the heat pump option code on any. Second, I know the Technology pkg includes the larger right hand screen. Does it also include HK sound, or is that a stand-alone option? I don't see many list it as an option. I know in '19 and '20 HK was difficult to get, so perhaps not many have it at all? Third, I understand there was a bearing failure on some earlier models. Was there a fix for it and/or did BMW re-engineer it on later models? If so, what years have the updated bearing? Thanks in advance for any help. I'm sure I'll have more questions as I shop. Ron
