This car isnt a one trick pony I reckon. Nor is speed is the reason it exists. There is a bit more nuance to the USP of the car than 0-100 acceleration (which is for sure a main calling card of most EVs but lately less so, and I like that).

I was poking fun of the silly YouTube video focusing on acceleration when we all know EVs are fast, nor do people who buy an iX care about whether the 0-60 mph is 3 seconds or 5 seconds.

1) it’s 0-62, so it should be 3.7X 0-60 2) we don’t know the SoC. It’s about as quick as an X5M, which is stupid quick for a midsize SUV.

Curious to know how many SUVs with similar size and cost are faster than IX.

He said M cars. That includes non-SUVs. The M3/4/5/8 are all sun-3s cars (xDrive variants only when that is not the only option for the class).

Speaking of SUVs alone since you brought that up, the Tesla Model X Plaid has a claimed 0-60 of 2.5s. The regular Model X does it in 3.8s. Both of which are slightly or massively better than the M60.

The only things the Model X is better at are being creaky and letting in noise I mean, maybe you can squeeze out a bit more range but I've spent enough time in an X to know it will be a tight game in real world.

And the plaid is what, $130k to start?

Yikes, Model X now starts at $121k, plaid $139k. I wouldn't pay $121k for a white base Model X given the quality I've seen, but it is a bigger car so not really a straight comparison either. Still, this makes the M60, which basically comes fully loaded, look like a steal.

The Model X has never looked impressive or high-end to me. It's quite unattractive actually. And frankly, the only SUVs I feel really look $100k+ are the Range Rover, G-wagon, Cullinan, etc.

iX is a way better vehicle than the Model X. Not even close in my opinion. Tesla's supercharger network is its main selling point.

I know that you secretly crave for the Escalade-V…. but seriously, I think Alpina XB7 is the best mid/full size SUV on the market today. It’s good looking, classy, luxurious and sporty. Can’t beat that combo. RR is classy too, but the build quality is absolute trash.

I think Tesla has its own place, feels like musk has created an unique crowd/audience.
Myself enjoyed IX test driving experience, And think overall IX is a better suv.
One thing I like about tesla is its software. A few generations ahead of bmw.

Also to kjx I would not comparing smaller cars to SUV, they are two different catergory. doing that is pointless.

You should drive an EV. In a real world situation (not launch control), by the time your transmission kicks down or you downshift, the iX will be gone. Even an M4 Comp xDrive will need a fairly high speed run to catch up. It is pretty real-world fast for what is a non-M X5.

Obviously, some of the Teslas are faster than this.

I agree the X7/XB7 seem like the best in segment objectively. When you're talking powertrain, build quality, interior materials, styling etc. the entire package. Most well rounded.

I just can't warm up to the looks in the way I do to the Range Rover. The X7 looks fine, handsome for a big SUV, but doesn't have that sex appeal that'll turn my head. You wouldn't see James Bond driving an X7.
