Just a heads up on the Dravit . . . it has golden/brown undertones. I have had both mineral grey and sparkling graphite and Dravit does not look as clean to me. Just my opinion, but check it out in person.

Order Placed! The dealer also had trouble with the configuration tool for eDrive40, but was able to place an actual order with all the options I wanted. Mineral White, Red leather, Premium, Park Assist, Driving Assist packages. Laser Headlights, Harmon Kardon, Drive Recorder, Wireless Charging, HUD.

Couple of interesting items to note. Passenger Lumbar is automatically deleted (apparently for ALL BMW's - chip shortage), and item 5AP is added, which decodes (turns off) the anti-dazzle feature of the headlights. Even though better for everyone, it's not approved by DOT. My understanding is the law is changing and soon it will be. Hopefully a free software update to turn it back on.

Thought I might like Skyscraper Grey but it looks exactly like the Space Grey I have now, and wanted something different.

Yep. You also end up with a special windshield that has a transparent polymer section heads up is projected on to. The HUD capable windshield is more expensive to replace than the regular one (which is already expensive due to rain sensors, camera mounts, etc).

I ordered it anyway. My wife's Hyundai Sonata hybrid has it and it looks great.

BMW cheapens out with i4 by not including augmented reality navigation system maybe via future software update? It has front camera, same curve display and iDrive, why iX does and not i4?

What does the augmented Nav do that the i4’s doesn’t?

It overlays turn arrows over live video on the display. It triggers automatically whenever there’s a turn coming.

Hmm, I could see that being a safety issue as the driver winds up watching the video and takes his eyes off the road. I think the HUD is safer, if less ‘video gamish’.

It’s live feed from front camera so I’d say it’s safe but yeah a bit of a gimmick. HUD also projects arrows on the road but not sure BMW has this part. MB EQS does both augmented in hud and nav display.

I can see it as a benefit and a distraction.

Personally, I find the HUD on my F82 M4cs to be distracting, not what's on the screen itself, but the unit and the plastic trim around it causing glare on the windshield during the day, and a slight reflection of sun hitting the plastic cover during certain points of the day...

All of it is likely amplified by the fast windshield angle I'm sure, as my other halfs G20 with a more conservative windshield angle I have similar challenges, albeit to a lesser degree.

Anybody planning to order the 20" wheels without the Tire Performance Package? I noticed that up until today you could do that, but now the only way to get the 20" wheels is with this package.

It was always a glitch.
You could select the 20" wheels with no cost but it had the "!" for additional change required.

That change was adding the package.

I've never been able to configure the 20" wheels without the sports package, which adds all of the other goodies. I opted to skip that upgrade due to:
  • The add-on sticker fender flares look goofy to me. I like the wide body look that the other M series cars get, but not this... they get flared fenders, this is a molded same body color fender flare.
  • The wheels knock about 50 miles range per the Euro configurators.
I really like the look of the 20s, but the trade off was not worth it. And if I just can't handle the puny 19s when I get the car, I'll look for a lightweight 20 that fits under the fenders.

Check the pic differences... That little flare looks better IMO. The fender flare looks forced.

That make sense. I had been playing with the builder since Thursday, but hadn't finalized the build and sent to my dealer until today. I do want the 20" with the fatter tires and the fender flare as they add to the sporty looks of the car. I just wasn't interested in the cooling package and other fluff in this option as I wasn't planning to track nor go on long trips with it.
