Have you had an electric car? My 2014 i3 barely has 70 miles of range and even that short range is rarely an issue - remember you always start the day with a full tank of gas - and chargers are pretty much everywhere you drive in the unlikely situation where you rack up 200+ miles in a day. I would bet you will more likely regret not having the 20" than those 50 miles...

Despite lower range, I decided to go with 20 inch wheel and M tech pack. If one doesn’t get 20 inch wheels, then the pack is not available. It means you won’t get wider back (there are plastic things where the rear wheels are. No idea how they are named in English). Look at the photos.

Niceee! They do look mighty fine those wider wheels, i am gonna try first with the 19" and see how the range actually is and if it is more then i expect or lower after that i might upgrade up to 20" inch but with M-Performance wheels later on.

That is correct but the M-Tech pack when you read the details on what it is, it just adds bigger brakes and nothing else at least on the Swedish site it says that, at this point i will go with the 19" and if it turns out that the regular brakes are "bad" or if i want to go up to the 20 inch then i will probably upgrade my breaks also because at that time they will probably need replacing also.

I don't think the brakes are "bad".
The only time.younwill use all friction is when the car is fully charged.

As soon as the battery can take some charge you'll have a mix of friction and regenerative braking.

For me it's not even a thought, I want 20" wheels.

It’s not just brakes. See the pictures I posted. Pay attention to the arch extenders. With 20 inch wheels and the m tech pack, you have them and the rear looks way better

Maybe, it will be better if I post other photos.

On this picture, the car is without m tech pack and there are no arch extenders - https://images.app.goo.gl/DddCbnJCxcesMNH18

But on these, there are extenders - https://images.app.goo.gl/Ensz1tckPqD5PxpPA and https://images.app.goo.gl/eG6HHWGuFccfxsUN7

They’re barely noticeably when one plays with the configurator, but I noticed this detail and it’s a must on this ///M electric car

I would choose the 19s as well, but only if I could not choose 18s.

Some will think it looks better. Some will think it looks worse. The only objective reality is that it looks different. Hardly a "must" if one doesn't like it.

Depending on the quality of the roads where you live, smaller is better! We voted to allow extra gas tax so our roads will be maintained better. The tax happened right away, but now we're 2 years later waiting for the road improvements. All we get are patched, patches that have been patched dozens of times before.

Although differences may not be huge, smaller wheels and the usual less rotating mass involved, are not only directionally better for impact harshness, but also for acceleration, braking distance, and range. Aesthetic differences may as well be arguing chocolate vs strawberry ice cream superiority.

There is according to the owner's manual in this thread:
https://bmwi.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1868965
My dealer and another dealer i spoke to said otherwise.

I've changed my mind and ordered an X4M Comp as I got £20k discount and 2.9% APR

1500 $ deposit made here.

Lets hope all this shit with the chip shortage end soon, 90% of any BMW delivered in the last 4 month miss options, head up display, Harman Kardon system and lumbar are affected.

did I make a mistake by choosing Alpine White, cognac sensatec interior?

Another order made here.
I4M50 with all the options except the tow bar (don’t need that), the sunroof (id take panoramic roof, but it’s not available), phone charger (useless option) and ventilated seats (sad I can’t take them… m sport doesn’t support ventilation. Cry)

Estimated date of delivery - December 2022 well, I have still one year to enjoy my 11 months old fully optioned X5 45e. Gonna trade that in. Sad i4 doesn’t have soft close, panoramic roof and double glazing (though, the press release says it must be quite)

Hmm, Delivery in December 2022?? In the US we still cannot place an actual order. I wonder how the allocations will work? Technically a delivery in 2023 still qualifies as "After June 2022" which is all the info I have at this point. My 335D with 120K miles will be needing some repairs by then (think I need a VC gasket).

Looks like my planned order only my color is Tanzanite. I like dark blue and no frozen.

Our order bank isn't open in the US but I placed a deposit same day they started taking them. Presumably my allocation is early spring. We'll see if they messed that up.... God I hope not.
