My JD has, of all things, a spot for an optional cigarette lighter. So, it's not far fetched to have a USB charger.

Nice pickup! I’ve got the same. Great little tractor.

This is what I bought to cut my 2.5 acres of yard with lots of trees and leaves. It has a hitch, so is capable of towing rollers, carts, etc. too.

I would highly recommend it. I know others may say it's "junk" because it's an MTD; but I love it. I don't want to spend $5k-$6k to cut my grass once a week. If I was a landscaper and needed a commercial grade mower for my job, that would be different.

They aren't junk, just built to a price point like everything else. I work on mowers as a weekend hobby for friends/family and those are decent machines for home owners. The issue is when people buy those and wonder why they wear out so fast mowing 100 lawns a week. I have a home depot Deere (G110) that was basically a garden tractor they sold for a few years, and it now has almost 900 hours on it at 17 years old with very few complaints.

Get the mulch kit. It will clean up the leaves with no issue. I've had nothing but the mulch kit on my JD for 20 years.

Actually did get it the other day! Was waiting for a few more leaves to fall and going to try it out today! Definitely didn't do much with the leaves without the kit, just kind of blew them off to the side and had to spend a whole day picking them up.

Is it just the cover for the side discharge that you have?

There is a cover for the side discharge as well as specific mulching blades.
