Question What car to get next?

I'm in the market for a classic (Mainly 60s - early 70s with Chevelle being tops on the list), but not seeing anything that I like enough to own &, when I do, sellers are non-responsive or lazy. So I'm thinking branch out & maybe look at something other than a classic car. But what? Not sure what I'd be happy with this time. Under $20k

Not another f-body. Already had a couple C6 Corvettes. Have already had a few Mustangs too.

Under $20K?

Good luck with that, you'll get old not classic so to speak.

'67 Chevelle is my pick for an older car. I've passed up 2 in the past few years due to various issues. I will build one at some point.

1972 Dodge Challenger, IMO. You'll have to dig around to find a good one under $20K though.

I like the 1967 Nova SS for a 60s car and they are relatively cheap compared to the Mustangs, Corvettes and Camaros.

If you're looking for something a little more modern, I would look at the 2007/8 350z or newer 370z. You could even get a nice 135i or maybe an M3 :-). You can also find 2/3/4 series cars under $20k. What about a 2007+ GTI or Golf R? FRS, Audi A4/A5? If you are willing to go above $20k a little, you could probably find a 2015 Audi S3.

Z4 3.0si is a smart buy in that price range, they've bottomed out and a lot of fun to drive.

Once had a CLK 55 AMG that was a fun little car with lots of torque...probably closer to 30k but might be fun for you.

Not interested in any maintenance nightmare cars like BMW, Audi, etc. Already owned a 335 anyway

Sounds like you're going to need to raise the bar then on the price to open the aperture up a bit.
FRS/BRZ would be cheap and reliable, but not fast. A service advisor of mine had a sign up in his shop that said you can have two of the following three: cheap, high quality, fast.

Or just be patient & the right classic comes when it comes. I don't need to buy anything. I will probably end up buying another cheap driver Miata sooner rather than later anyway while I shop for something.

Miata > Z3, BRZ, etc IMO

Maybe not a museum piece with under 20k miles on it, but the last two AP1s I bought were well under $20k. Later AP2s with low mileage are definitely expensive though.

At least drive a Z4 COUPE before discounting them entirely. The convertible is garbage, the coupe is a really nice car.

I have. Almost bought one years ago. I said pass on Z3, not Z4. However, don't like it enough to pay what they sell for.
