When I try to explain how I kept in touch with people in high school, I say they would page me and then I would have to scramble and find a landline or payphone.

The shock and horror of people realizing I didn't have a cell phone in high school lol. And then asking "what's a pager?"

It was like Texting before Texting...but as The5rivers said you had to scramble for quarters and a pay phone. Most people weren't waiting around at a pay phone longer than 2-4 minutes and we Outtie!!!
