Valet Drivers

QUESTION IS: Do you let valet Drivers park your car?

I can't say how many times I've been to my local mall and seen abusive driving towards customer cars. They really drive the car hard and the parking spot isn't even that far from the drop off area. I already told myself when it comes time to get my M I'm gonna treat it like a baby. So that means when I do valet driving I'm gonna ask them to kindly put it in the front and watch them because it's sad and poor customer service.

My car is a piece of shit, and I'll always park it myself at the very back of every parking lot and get some short lived exercise to the door.

I don't let anyone valet my car, simple. Valet parking isn't a big deal here in Utah anyway.

So you're fine with someone you don't know taking your car for a mini test drive to be parked?

Not far like walking distance, but they have a nice straight lovely road they can really push a customers car. My whole point is they shouldn't be driving someone else car like it's their own.

Sometimes you have no choice. I would not make my gf walk in heels because of a valet station I am trying to avoid.

Also "keeping it close" means an extra $20-40 around here (probably more by you in Miami). For what? Who cares? I am not trying to impress anyone.

Also most M's fail as a "show" car to keep close to the entrance where I live (as you know living in Miami). I hated it more in my 20's then I do now 30's. I guess I grew up a little.

I actually agree with you and I've just been trolling this whole time. I don't even let my friends drive my cars.

Serious question: why not just drop her off at the front and go park the car, and then pick her up when you all are finished? Of course if you don't mind the valet then this is a moot point, but since I do, I've done this on numerous occasions.

I was in this situation in Denver, except replace girlfriend with three buddies and heals with luggage. The hotel wanted $20 to valet the car and didn't offer self parking (I didn't book the hotel). I just dropped them off and found a pay self-parking lot that was cheaper than the valet down the road and walked back.

I agree with you it would be a simple solution. I also have bigger things to stress than if the valet is going to "abuse" my stock 135 in the 250ft it takes to park it in a parking lot (most of my valet experiences are in contained lots where I can see my car coming and going). I don't valet in the situation where they will just put my car on the street or in a municipal parking lot down the street (City Style). That's when I do what you mentioned.

Does that make sense?

Exactly what I did with the Marriott in Baltimore....and they validated parking in the lot next door.

Yeah of course. That's why I asked the OP how big the parking lot was because most valet lots (in the city, anyway, idk about malls) are very small. I completely agree with you.

I didn't realize we were talking about Miami. It's a beautiful 78 degrees out. No snow or frigid temps in the forecast. Crazy not to park and walk at the mall. I guess everyone is in a hurry (to shop and then sit in Miami traffic).
