Extending the i8's all electric mileage range
I took it into my own hands and got my i8 to give me 26 miles in all electric range. See the screenshot I pulled from my iPhone app.
Of course, living where I do was a big help. Can anybody guess what I did? (The screenshot is legit.)

Correct. But 4 miles steeply downhill on Stunt Road in Calabasas. The day before I started with 18 mile range and went to the market, keeping it in hold charge mode except when I got to hills, which I coasted in electric mode. I saw that my range was indicated at 20 when I got home and charging for 30 minutes brought that up to 22 miles. So today I decided to try Stunt Road to the top in hold charge mode and then coast home.
I suspect that 26 mile range will quickly "melt" to the 15 I usually get after driving for a few minutes and that I really won't get more than 13 miles in all electric.

Here's my log for the last trip. Note, though, what my gas mileage has been for the 1266 miles I have on the car -- 67.2 miles per gallon. And that includes a lot of spirited driving over almost 3 months.
