I have no idea about new music either. My go to stations on sat radio are Lithium, Classic Vinyl, Classic Rewind, the Bridge, 70s, 80s, Soul Town, Bluesville, Beatles, and some hair band stuff every now and then. It blows my mind when I realize the stuff that I like is 40 years old.

The funny thing is, that no one else will be able to say this in 40 years. Who in their right mind, is going to be listening to all the "Lil's"?

Same here.....I scan through stuff if we are out for a drive, but music has changed....in my opinion that is.

I always find myself going back to stuff I've already have in my library.

Right now I'm on a "Zepplin" kick. Last week it was Eric Clapton stuff. No matter how many times I hear the same track, I always notice something new I haven't heard before.

Freakin Stairway to Heaven. I get chills every time I hear it. And I think Dream On by Aerosmith has got to be one of the best rock and roll songs of all time. Clapton is timeless. Love that bluesy guitar. What about Stevie Ray?

Yeah, I'm on an "oldies" kick right now, not even sure why, but enjoying it. Some classic Gordon Lightfoot, CCR, etc.

But that's the stuff to Rudi's point that ages really well. All the current stuff - no substance, I can't envision it being popular in 40 years. But who knows, maybe time will prove me wrong if I'm still around.

I'm currently borrowing my dad's Econline 150 van. As I bob and weave thru traffic in the big white "church bus" I keep saying to myself
"Self, this thing is SO nimble"

I try to listen to some of the stuff that my boys (19 & 20) listen to and I just can't do it.....and I'm an old school hip-hop & rap fan. In their defense, I have turned them on to a lot of old school rap & hip-hop. My oldest asked me about Del the Funky Homosapien and A Tribe Called Quest last week, proud dad moment. Although they listen to a lot of the newer music (aka garbage) don't let that paint a picture of their taste. Both of my boys can still pick up a guitar and belt out anything from Led Zeppelin to Rage Against the Machine.

I currently on a Deftones kick. If you aren't a Deftones fan (and you like rock) listen to this and you'll soon be a fan.

Agree on all. I love some SRV but can only do it in small doses. Based off who you've mentioned above, have you ever listened to any of Jack White/The White Stripes? I would imagine you would like a lot of his/their stuff.

I love SRV. That one video of him playing around before a show just blows my mind. I'm a big blues fan as well.

I love Tom Morello. From Rage to Audio Slave...he was like the guy to continue carrying the torch.

Aerosmith is awesome. Not much from them I don't like.

I'm partial to AC/DC. Grew up with them. Simple rifts, but they would nail it. And Phil Rudd was one of the fastest drummers I had ever seen in concert!

I like race cars for their details, not because they are fast.

I own a base Exige that I have 95% converted to a race car, fire suppression, master switch, slicks, all the racing toys, the whole lot. And I've never had it on a track, and never will.

Yes, I'm a weirdo.

Here's me parked on gravel...in the rain...wearing slicks. Why? Because photographer .

Excellent!

I listened to that all the way through to be honest, I do like deftones too.

I'm guessing you are familiar with Lightfoot, but if not, here are two to check out (though there is a lot more):

I've heard their stuff, whatever got airplay. I'm a huge Stones fan, especially their older bluesy tunes - think Down in the Hole. Also like the grung stuff, Anything Chris Cornell, what a voice. Stone Temple Pilots, Foo Fighters you get it.

Back to the topic. I went to the eye doctor today. I hate to say it, but I'm having a hard time driving in the dark. I have multi-focal contacts and if I adjust the distance, the close up suffers or visa versa. So, I'm going to try driving glasses with glare resistant lenses. I'm OK during the day, but the dark is tough. When did this happen to me? Getting old sucks.

And why can't NY and NJ use that highly reflective paint on the roads that FL uses? I don't care how dark or rainy it is in FL, you can always clearly see the road markings.

Did you ever hear of Walter Trout? A buddy of mine turned me on to him years ago. Great blues guitar guy, but he couldn't get air time here in the states. I recently started hearing him on Bluesville.

I was just in looking at Lasix and they told me about lens replacement. 12g vs 5 but you never get cataracts and don't need monovision correction since new lens stays flexible

Hoping Second Chance lottery entries (15k) comes thru soon!!!
