A widebody i8 GT3 for the track? (Render)

What do you think of this render?

The render, which was completed by artist Jon Sibal, is dubbed the i8 GT3 and features a radically modified version of the road going i8. The race version of the i8 features a wide body kit, allowing for wider, stickier tyres. Downforce is provided by a massive rear wing and additional carbon fibre airflow elements laced along the front fascia.

While BMW has no official plans to race the plug-in hybrid, this render makes us think BMW should definitely consider putting the i8 on the track.

**I like it quite a bit; gives it a bit of an M1 feel:

Completely defeats the whole point of the i8. But I suspect one day we'll have electric race cars. When battery life and problems relating to excessive heat are worked out.

We do have formula e but not a series of track variants of electric street cars

Visually, it looks good from that angle. Would like to see a rear and side view too of the render.

Could be something akin to the planned i8s perhaps. A meaner, aggressive i8.
