water sloshing about in the frame!!

So, I've got water sloshing about in the frame of my 2019 roadster!

Been driving i8s for past 7 years so know most common issues, but this is a new one on me. Sloshes about quite noticeably when braking/accelerating.

From a Google search, there is a similar known issue on the i3 (failed windscreen seal that allows water ingress into frame and requires drain holes to be drilled into the frame to release ) but nothing for the i8. Booked into BMW on 5 Oct. Will report back.

Anyone ever had this?

I have a coupe and sometimes a hear that kind of sound when driving in Electric - and it is the fuel in the fuel tank sloshing. Would be too easy of an explanation though…..

Was blocked drain holes! The car spends its life outside in leafy suburbia! I'll ask the dealer the clear them out whenever the car is being serviced/inspected

Thanks for sharing, can you share the location of the drain holes. Another thing to watch out for!

Unfortunately I have no idea. I plan on simply getting the garage to regularly check them whenever the car is in.

Ok so I took some pictures from what I could access when the buttress panel was raised. I would imagine one of these drains was the culprit
