Same here. My SS OP Datejust was my wedding gift. It's 36mm, and some say it's small. However, to me it's the perfect size dress watch/casual for my 7.5 inch wrist. Simple and classy. The new larger watches look hideous in my opinion. My SS Submariner will never leave my collection. I buy what I like, and don't plan to sell any of my watches.

is it really a "bubble" if it never pops?

i'm okay with it
because it means if I am ever in dire need of cash, I can always flip my Daytona even after I've been daily wearing it for a couple of years and still come out ahead

Douche central, don't pretend you wear your Daytona to work on cars. Change your blinker fluid bro.

This week we will see what exactly happens to the current secondary market.

Lots of rumors floating around what will happen. Exciting.

The BLNR is still on the configurator. The Rolex website is trash. You have to pick the steel then the bezel...All three bezels are still there. It wasn't in the normal catalog but the BLNR was in the master catalog. That has been confirmed. The standard catalog that people get over the counter at ADs doesn't include every single Rolex model, also, this has been confirmed in the past.

A bunch of idiots went into a panic after Basel because the BLNR wasn't in the Basel press materials...meanwhile the watch was clearly displayed at Basel along with the LN and new BLRO. No watch that has been cancelled by Rolex has ever been shown at Basel in the presentation displays.
Only in the history or lineage displays.

If the BLNR really has stopped, I can bet my money that it is just being updated to the new movement. Same for the black LN which no-one is talking about because it isn't as popular and has always been easy to get. People are just using social media to hype things up so they can see the value of their watch go up or in hopes of reselling and making a profit.

As i said, looks like the BLNR and LN as the 116710 have been discontinued and replaced with a new BLNR 126710 w/ updated case, movement and jubilee vs oyster. The LN is gone for the time being.

Now to see how the secondary market reacts. Hopefully i made the right play by selling all my inventory last week when prices shot up.

Also, after talking to a few dealers this morning, sounds like most are not carrying over the old BLNR waitlists. So those that were on the waitlist for awhile waiting for a BLNR to show up, now need to go get back on the waitlist.

do you think it will be tough to get your hands on a 2019 BLNR 126710?

it was tough to get your hands on the old BLNR straight from the AD. The new one will be the same way.

if you are willing to pay the secondary market premium, youll be able to get the new easy.

Speaking of Basel 2019 Rolex Novelties, I don't think BLNR with a jubilee would cause a fanflare as much as Rolex's Pepsi GMT MASTER II with a jubilee bracelet .
In other words, I don't think BLNR Oyster will be less favorable in long run than BLNR Jubilee

Yacht-Master 42 MM is a great upgrade over earlier models
My fave novelty is GMT MASTER II with Meteorite Dial but for GMT MASTER II Line , my fave is same watch with a blue dial

im guessing the BLNR on oyster is going to be more favorable in the long run. Jubilee isnt a popular choice.

I saw a bunch of old BLNRs from dealers shoot up in price after the announcement, but it seems they are starting to creep back down to the $13k range or so where they were before.

agree jubilee is a bit too flashy for a tool watch

I thought by now it would have all popped... seems like Basel didn't really live up to the hype and we are in the same market as we were...

Classic watches have definitely softened a bit. Some Daytona's are down $20-30K from asking prices. Red subs and 1665's have come down a little as well.

New watches is another story. Still can't get them from an AD unless you know someone.

Nice choice, an ultimate Rolex watch for anyone who like to draw no attention yet to own a high end brand's product

There is no Rolex bubble, there's only Rolex controlled secondary markets where prices will either increase or stay mostly flat since the minute prices start to fall, lots of buyers will jump into the market, even during a recession.

Of course strange things can always happen, but I think we're in a new normal.

I don’t know if this is true. Smart phones and Apple watches have definitely hurt the demand for watches. None of my kids nor their spouses wear a watch. They have zero interest in a Rolex even though they could easily afford one.

The demand and secondary markets for Rolexes have been steadily increasing since 1957 and sharply increased in the last 4 years with most steel sports now getting at least $15,000 (more like $17,000), so getting near double MSRP. People buying a $15,000 watch aren't hesitating due to a $400 watch.

More importantly, Apple watches are ridiculous.
