The i8 could have been a Halo car if they stuffed that m5 motor with x drive - a proper v8 with 600hp would have made this car the real deal . I drove the NSX and it's what the i8 should have been .

$1.3 million for the 003.
I think I’ll stick with the i8. I can live with 1 more second to reach 60 mph. |

There is only fun with that car and that's all about. What the i8 should have been is obviously only of concern of people who don't have one |

Many commenters have gone off on a tangent. The thread refers to a halo *version* of the i8. Not that the i8 itself should be different.
i.e. just as Mercedes made the AMG ONE to have a halo effect on the range, and Aston Martin made Valkyrie and Son of Valkyrie, to sell the forthcoming new Vanquish. So the suggestion was that if BMW made a halo *version* of the i8, that would have had a knock on effect to make the i8 (and other BMWs) more desirable. Perhaps improving residuals. If I were suggesting any performance improvement to the i8 itself, it would only really have been wider wheels/tyres plus bigger brakes all designed in from scratch. |
