Front Seat Creaking

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I noticed that the front seats on my 2022 xDrive50 with Castanea Chestnut Leather option creak when I lean a little heavily into them with my back. This is pretty easily reproducible by leaning forward and then leaning backwards into the seat with a little pressure.

I wanted to see if others have had this issue and if I should take it into the dealership to get this fixed. This is a common occurrence for me when I get into the car or when I lean forwards to adjust something. Not a huge dealbreaker but it does tickle my OCD especially when the rest of the car is so quiet.

If this isn’t common, I can record a video or something to demonstrate what I am talking about.

If its any use the seat on the g05x5 creaked when leaning side to side. Dealers ordered a new seat base and its dead silent. Take it to a good dealer and let them fix it.

Our M6 and my last X5 did just this. Both times, the dealer had to replace the seat base/frame.

I have it on the driver seat. It's easy to reproduce but only when driving over bumps (speed bumps, etc.). I cannot say it's a common problem but a quick test drive by the dealer will make the problem apparent.

None of our X5's have had this and I've only experienced it long ago with an E60 passenger seat and if I recall, it was a spring in the seat that was the culprit.

I haven't brought the car to the dealer yet since I'm still building a 'punch list' for them to work on. The other issue, besides minor iDrive annoyances, is the seal issue with the roof that creates an almost flapping sound at highway speed especially with a cross wind. This is documented but rather intermittent in nature.

Appreciate all the input! I will take it to the dealer and report back for posterity.
