BMW Connected app *still* not working

Hello all,

Hopefully you can help me figure out what's going on with my BMW Connected app. Calle BMW numerous times and they have been useless to date. Each time I call, they tell me it is a known issue and that they are trying to resolve. WTF?

As you can see, when I log into my app, it shows my i8. I can see the car, the location and climatization works, however charge status, plugged in or not and range are all absent. Anyone else have this issue? What needs to be done?

TIA,

Minsoo

Did you try in the connected portal (not app) to remove and add the car again? I had some issues after trying to get my wife's 4 series and the i8 into the same app which doesn't work if the cars have different owner accounts.

Just to be sure, what do the tabs for eDrive and Info display? You posted a picture of the tab that works.

I went back and forth with them for 4 (four, count 'em FOUR) months of "It's a known problem... blah, blah, blah. I called every week. I got all sorts of bogus answers. They will not ever solve it over the phone. Take it to the dealership. Have it fixed under warranty. If you are paying for the service, (i.e. not under warranty anymore) then it's covered because you are paying.

First: Call the Connected Folks. Have them create an escalation ticket. Get the ticket number.
Second: Take it to your local dealer. Have them fix it. Give them the escalation ticket number.
Third: Get a loaner car.

They won't fix it with any priority unless it is costing them money. Loaning you a car costs them money.

I own no garage queens. If it's in my driveway, it's been ridden hard and put away wet. ...and now, with a light crust of Maine road salt.

Call BMW NA, customer relations and have them create a case for you and escalate it. It will be solved within a week.

You won't have to take the car in. it's all provisioning on BMW servers for BMW e-remote services or whatever they call BMW Connect for i cars and the hybrids.

I tried calling NA Customer Relations... all they did was pass me on to the Connected folks... the ones who couldn't fix it for months.

"It's all provisioning..." Yeah, that's what I thought as well, and it might be true... but after months of zero success, I needed to go down a different path to get it fixed: "Here, take my car. Give it back when the problem is fixed. Thanks."

Try deleting the app. Reboot phone. Then add app again and then try it.

I deleted the car from my Connected Drive account on the Internet. A day later, I added the car again and everything worked fine after that. Deleting and reinstalling the app didn't work for me.

Thanks Pat. I enjoy your videos on YouTube!
Will try doing that this evening.
