Awesome. Thanks for sharing.

What I don't get are the retail prices. The i3 MSRP is significantly more than the other cars here in the US. Yet they all seems to be on par with each other over in the UK.

Any straightforward explanation? Global economics?

I think it as to do with pricing strategies, taxes and the likes. In Australia for example, the i3 is $72,000 which, to give you an idea is the same price as a VW Touareg...

Very much so.
All automakers are free to set the prices in individual markets whichever way they please. In practice, it means they take many things into account, including exchange rate and local tax rebates ($7.5K Federal in the US, but not elsewhere), as well as the price of competitors.

Somehow, BMW NA does not feel like it has to compete with eGolf and Leaf on pricing in the US.

They are right w.r.t. eGolf, it's selling at 1/2 the rate of the i3.
They are wrong w.r.t. Leaf, which is outselling i3 at almost 2:1 margin.
Hyundai Ionic is not available in the US right now. It will be interesting to see how it will be priced.

If Chevy Bolt and Model 3 hit the market at around $35K price point, as expected, BMW NA may have to lower i3 MSRP, or see its sales continue to drop.

Just noticed the thread title says Golf GTE, but the model is actually the e-Golf. Should be updated if possible.
