Aircon performance

hi all,
Just a quick question on everyone's experience of the AC in warm temperatures.
For the first time in years, we're experiencing sunny conditions with temps constantly around the late 20s (75-85f) here in the north of England, and the first time I've driven my i8 in these conditions!

The AC feels feeble in my car and even on Max AC, the air feels like it's cooling but nowhere near what I would expect (on the same day, my old X5 was like a fridge).

Bearing in mind some of you bask in temps like this regularly, how's the performance?

(and, no, I don't have eco-climate-mode on)

No Probs at all here NGR.

I use mine as daily driver and even in this weather of late, it is fine. I make regular morning trips down the M1 with the sun beating on my chest and I set the air con temp at 20.0 and its perfect temp. any lower and the cabin gets too chilly!

I have it set at Auto, speed 1 with central vent pointing toward me at chest level and the right vent at the steering wheel.

Do you have the circulation set on A or M? A is generally better if you’re not using Max AC. Like zagaboo, no issues here with the AC. I run mine at 68 degrees F when it’s 110 F heat index outside in Texas. I use the 3rd (middle) power setting with Auto and Sync on

Just as I thought, needs a trip to the dealer. We're nowhere near Texas heat so the AC shouldn't be remotely troubled.

I tried all of the options for recirc and no difference that I could tell.

Thanks for the input guys.

Sure, just needed a re-gas!

I'm always wary of "just needs a re-gas" as every time I've lost refrigerant in the past on other cars it has been due to a leak, compressor or sensor fault. This time it really was just low on gas.

Ha been fine for months since a top-up.

Oh haha I see. Thank you for sharing. I am glad it wasn't a big problem.
