Angry Excessive Tire Wear 2016 I8

Car had 4000 miles on it when I bought it. 2 years old.
Had a rear tire replaced due to tire damage. Had not checked tire wear at that time nor did the dealer say i needed new tires, approx 6,000 miles. After 5,000 additional miles had car into dealer (Phoenix, AZ) for windshield replacement (Rock Chip) and was told both rear tires need replacement down to the wear indicators. The new tire (OEM) had 5,000 miles on it. Brought the car into my local San Antonio BMW dealer for 15K service and was told both rear tires were almost down to the rear indicators with approx 4,000 miles on them. Front tires still OK. They said they called Bridgestone and an engineer said it was probably due to the Electric engine torque driving the rear wheels. (Except only the gas engine drives the rear wheels and I drive in the ECOPLUS mode 95% of the time.) Other posts with low mileage or high wear have claimed dealers told them that 4,000 miles was not not that uncommon.

Has anyone else experienced only excessive rear tire wear?

yeah, just look at the forum, lots of people finding the Bridgestones dont last long. I'm running Pirellis now, which still early days, but seem to be better.

I got 11,000 miles on the Bridgestones and they were shot especially the rears.

Bridgestone life have been amazing for me, though I do use it as a commuter car on motorways, so an easy life.

I get 16K out of the rears and just replaced fronts at 30K with 2mm still on them!!!! I posted the exact mileage on another thread.

I managed 14k miles on the rears and 11k on the fronts with the factory supplied Bridgestones. This was mainly urban/city driving which is I imagine is why the fronts wore down first.

I have now fitted Pirellis so we will see how they compare.
