Are there any upgrades to the dashboard screen or Navigation in 2017 model vs 14-16?

I am trying to decide between a 16 or a 17 model and wanted to know if the main dashboard screen or the navigation screen had any improvements made in 2017. Yesterday while at the BMW dealer, I sat on a 2017 i8 and started the car and the main dashboard screen seemed to have different graphics when starting vs what I remember from driving a '15. Are the start-up graphics the only difference or does anyone know if anything else was improved? (eg faster processor, higher definition screen, better map graphics, etc). Thanks!

Only the new i8 (mid 2018) has different display technology. Main difference is the better HUD.
