Hehe... I think it was Axius just saying he was going the opposite way - 128 to some benz.

My wife drives a 2012 C300 4matic. It's been a great, reliable car so far. She's put about 50k on it in 2 years. Transmission is the worst part, slowest shift from reverse to drive ever, have to be in sport mode to get 1st gear and it's just a bad 1-2 shift. They are definitely not sports cars, even compared to the 328 it'll feel slow.

My dad went from a 08 E90 335 to a 2013 C300 sport and that car is really nice for the money. If you wanna do MB then do C300.

If not, then eat ass.

Where in Upstate NY are you? I miss the great driving roads up on the Taconic, Palisades PKWY and Route 218 between West Point and Cornwall. There are no curves in FL, except the women . I might just call it a day and get a 91 Hyundai Excel, fully equipped, CD changer with the cell.

I called to put a deposit on that 07 CLK550 to check it out tomorrow but I was informed that it just sold. So 335i tomorrow along with a few C classes I'll be looking at.

Have you checked out Vista BMW in Coconutcreek? They have decent deals on some cars you have to look though because they also have shitty deals. However I have bought all my BMWs from them and gotten pretty good deals. Don't go for service though, worst service ever.

I'm looking to trade in my f30 and selling locally is so time consuming but good looks. Isn't this the current style? Either way looks badass.

I think all of their BMW's are over $19K so no bueno for me. Speaking of service, South Motors BMW is near me and I've heard horror stories. Braman, not too far from my job, is decent.

Yeah, I think the new coupe is due next year.

I didn't notice the rebuilt title when I posted. I test drove a similiar car going for $30k a few months ago.

There were a couple E350 coupes at dealers in that price range, though.

Yeah you have to look every so often. They have a lot of overpriced stuff, but they do good stuff every so often, however they usually dont last long.

Since your bringing up e class--My wife's sister and her boyfriend both have e350's which have good space inside but drive real floaty. With any of these Benzes if you don't get one with the Sport package then you are over 60 years old...my sister in law has one without the sport and she is 34--when I see her driving it I mistake her for being a 70 year old woman.
Not sure about the guy who says a c300 will feel slow compared to a 328--like I said the c250 in sport mode feels maybe a touch slower but has pretty good pickup. You have a 328 so you be the judge.

There's not much difference in the C250 and C300, 0-60 is still around 7 seconds. Sport mode basically just allows use of first gear.

I'm comparing to my recent F33 428ix loaner. Probably the sport settings that really make the difference more than the power, Sport+ with trans in Sport was what I drove around in.

Get a car from carmax ... Sounds like the warranty will do well in this situation. I don't know your financials, but the idea of having a $19k budget that is pretty strict while thinking about buying a car with a good potential for 4 figure repairs is a bit of an area I would never want to go to. The risk is definitely not worth the reward.

Because someone brought it up... I've had the opportunity to drive an E350 for a few thirty to hundred mile trips and I think it's a great car. I believe it's a 2015 MY. If I wasn't very picky about cars and using my money to purchase cars, I could see myself driving one.

Is keeping the F30 an option?

After that, I'd go with the E92. Best looking car on your list... and the best driver's car too!

I think most of those cars will be pretty expensive to repair past the 50, 60, 70k mark anyways - which I assume is where you're looking based on your budget. You can handle most maintenance yourself so that definitely helps.

But! I also agree with the post above.

I mean, let's forget about budget for a moment. You're considering driving almost 30,000 miles annually, in a 10 year old to 5 year old car, with relatively high repair costs, and many parts that will likely need to replaced as you eclipse 100k miles after about 1 year of ownership.

Considering that life is an unpredictable little bitch... do you really want to throw a 5 year old car with 100,000 miles on it into the mix? I'm all for picking a car I will truly enjoy, but not at the cost of peace of mind and definitely not at the risk of my livelihood. I'm in New Jersey, so I literally would not be able to get to work, get groceries, or do anything in a reasonable amount of time without a car.

We actually got the CTS coupe through Carmax last Saturday with a warranty and my wife couldn't be happier. Keeping the f30 is still an option as even though it's only a 328, it has balls, however, I have a chance to lower my payments and save more each month.

On the way home from work I went to this Lincoln dealership and saw a 2012 C250 with 56k miles for $17,100. Fully loaded with nav, black on tan, looked sharp. I'll test drive it in the morning after the e92 335 to get a better idea. However, with my wife having the coupe and myself getting another coupe with two kids isn't that smart lol. Step daughter is 17 and son is 9 but they don't really care.

So far this calendar year I haven't driven much, just commuting to work and local weekend activities, so getting a higher mileage car doesn't scare me too much as I can get the car repaired/maintained without draining my wallet. Plus, my loan offer expires June 11th so I have time.

This.
Standard BMWs and MBZs can feel like the suspension is broken when you drive them. So sad.
