2016 I8 or 2017 C2?
I would soon be looking for one of the two vehicles above but I can't seem to determine which would be a better long term bet. My goal is to hold on to the vehicle for at least 5 years. I'm tired of trading in cars every few years!
Considering that a CPO'd version of both would be out of warranty before my 5th year of ownership, which would make a better buy? (Probably the 911 but I feel like the 911 would always be around to buy in the future but I can't say the same for the i8). Assuming I become irrational and buy the i8 with the thought of getting out of it in a couple of years, how hard would it be to trade in without getting killed? I'm going to guess that there are others facing the same dilemma of being unable to ignore the attainability of the i8 for the same price as a loaded M3! |

I’ve owned both.
Still own the i8. They both are great cars and drive wonderfully. The i8 is more fun and more unusual and is the future. |

True. The C2 just feels like something that can be taken for granted since it's always going to be around in practically the same form.
