a couple of months ago my dell laptop died (fried motherboard). there are still a lot of files id like to retrieve from the hard drive but i have no idea how to access it. can someone help me out? what hardware do i need? whats the process i use recover the files? thanks in advance

depens on the model laptop...there should be a cover on the bottom or on the side that you can unscrew and the hard drive should be in there....just unscrew stuff till you find it...it wont damage anything else to just unscrew covers and put them back...you can also try googling it or asking a computer savvy friend...

unscrew everything...
the laptop is useless anyways this is a how to for a toshiba http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptop...op-cover-1.htm shouldn't be too different
