I see a lot of nose dives and nose lifts in i4 videos. Reviewers (except Joe Achilles) keep saying that the weight is well managed, but that's probably because their expectations are low.

I don't think driving experience will matter as much when we switch to EVs. That's why IMHO ix is the best option for an EV right now.

One thing I noticed while driving my buddy's Model S Plaid was the nose lift under hard acceleration. I wondered if the behavior was an indication of less-than-great suspension design; the byproduct of massive acceleration of all that weight; or both.

Surely unless the suspension was VERY stiffly sprung, hard acceleration or braking changes the centre of gravity towards the back of the car, so you would expect the back to squat and the nose to lift.

Why is this a surprise to anyone?

BMW has some degree of anti-dive and anti-squat (anti-geometry) in its suspension design (forces going to the suspension links and control arms instead of the spring) to limit the squatting and diving during acceleration and braking. In fact, it is possible to make the suspension 100% anti-geometry with zero squatting and diving, but this has undesirable effects.
