Ionic Sound
Are the Ionic sounds outside the vehicle or strictly inside?

Iconic Sound is inside, Audible Pedestrian Protection (VSG) is outside.

I will probably code off the audio both outside and inside i am ok with my EV not making sounds and mostly because those sounds gets annoying with time, and also creep mode is fun!
I scared my wife with my i3 i turned off AC, Turned off fans and all other audio while i was driving behind her without her noticing until i yelled "HIIIIIIIIIII" from the car she got scared. This was also during summertime on summer tires witch are ridiculously quiet in low speed.

my older teslas don't have the pedestrian warning but it looks like its going to change:
https://www.reuters.com/business/aut...ds-2022-02-10/ I really wanted to disable the external one but I think I will be keeping it now that I see some enforcement |

i find that it sounds pretty quiet yet deafening at the same time outside. I can't explain it, but it's almost like the frequency that BEV/PHEV's resonate at external sends vibrations through your body or ears, all without sounding loud.

I'm talking about the Hans Zimmer track played inside the car. Annoying as F after thirty seconds to a minute.

I actually did this when in Comfort I don’t mind it in Sport/Sport Boost because you don’t drive it in this mode all the time but it’s tiresome all the time in the lesser mode. I actually wished it had a button to turn on and off rather than in a menu.

@ Footie. Can you do the Hey BMW and ask it to "Turn off Iconic Sound"? I didn't try that on my test drive. But I was happy to be able to get the car to pull up the exact menu by saying "Iconic Sound" rather than having to search for it. But a physical button would be nice. I understand the desire to make the cabin simpler by removing buttons. But wish that BMW left the customizable ones and let us program the functions we really want access to.

The funny thing is that, on ALL the BMW commercials about the iX and i4, they always show them with ICE engine sound. It's so stupid.

From what I have read, the IX and I4 use coding technology 2.0. So, you need online BMW account; otherwise, car will throw all kinds of errors if you attempt.
