You can also look into BMW Select for up to 60 months and purchase an extended OEM warranty.
You'll get the full credit, the rates are low at 1.9% which is substantially lower than BMW's lease MF, and the depreciation calculation isn't inflated like on a lease so you may end up "breaking even" on value vs owed upon trade-in, unless you wanted to do the end agreement baloon payment. But who knows on the last part? The downsides to BMW Select: -You pay interest on the entire amount, so if you decide to re-finance the balloon payment, you are paying interest again. -You are on the hook for any diminished value stemming from an accident since you are the owner. But the payments vs lease on BMWusa's calculator using the $7,500 tax credit is appealing... Last edited by spool twice; 12-20-2021 at 07:09 AM.. |

Has anyone talked to the dealer about the pre-order lease rates? Are those still valid, depending on actual MSRP of course, for those of us who pre-ordered.........$849 for the M50 and $6xx for the eDrive40?

Can you elaborate on the PenFed PenSaver route? New to this forum so looking for tips on incentives I can take advantage of.

I'm guessing he is referring to Pentagon Federal Credit union. They and Navy Federal Credit union tend to have very good auto loan rates. Their rates are not as good as the 0.99% that BMW used to give out. But compared to other banks etc. normally Pentagon Federal and Navy Federal has great rates.

The Pensaver is similar to BMW Select, it's a depreciation only loan. It looks like Penfed no longer offers this product, so BMW Select would be a way to go if they don't extend the tax credit on their leasing.
If they don't, then BMW select would end up being cheaper in effective monthly payments apples-to-apples with the tax credit.

With BMW select, the tax credit is given to you since you at tax time since you would be on the title as the owner similar to a traditional loan or purchasing outright.

I haven't really paid anymore thought to it.
I plan to buy with a substantial cash position.
