Longtime Owners - How do you feel now?

Any of you guys who had the car for 4+ years, how do you feel about the car now and how is it different than when you first got it? Considering whether I should buy out my lease and keep it in a few months.... or flip it. I love the car so far.

I still love it, like on day one. So I keep it. Before, I changed every two years. There's nothing out there, which could replace an i8.

Garage List
2015 BMW i8  [10.00]
1970 Porsche 914-6  [0.00]
2018 BMW i3s REx  [0.00]
4 yeas and 4 months now.
Still love driving the car. Nothing else like it for the price.
The car still doesn’t look outdated and gets positive comments from bystanders everywhere I go.
The i8 hasn’t been the most reliable car I’ve owned, but buying any exotic or semi exotic spots car will be the same story. My experience mostly with late model Porsches has been no different. Fortunately I can get the i8 repaired at my local BMW dealership which has proven itself to be very competent.
I still haven’t seen any car I’d replace it with that I can afford. And I love getting an average 35-45 mpg.

Second i8 been driving one since 2015 and plan on keeping the current one for a while. Car drives just as good as the first day and still cannot find anything in the market similar to the i8 package.

Still love it!

There is still no other car that does what this car can do, especially the way it looks. I have no doubt that my next daily driver will be a full BEV (again) but nothing else gives me "the fizz" like walking up to this car in the morning and at the end of the day.

2 years here, but I'm only getting more attached. Agree with those saying there is nothing out there to replace it with.

Just sold mine a couple weeks ago at the 4yr mark. Had a 981 cayman S prior and will be returning to Porsche for a custom order 911. I just didn’t find it fun to drive.

3rd i8 since 2014 for me. Had 2 coupes, now a roadster. They are amazing cars with a whole spectrum of abilities: quiet if you want, comfort or sporty if you want. I have driven a LOT of cars in the interim such as McL 720s, Porsche 991 carrera T (which i loved), Merc AMG GT-S... but they all had their flaws and a narrow operating band.

The beauty of the i8 is that it has a wide breadth of abilities.

I have had my 2015 for almost 4 years now. Nearly bought a Taycan Turbo about a year ago and almost put money down on a Model S Plaid recently. I told my wife I was thinking about an NSX but after i had her sit in one she vetoed it immediately. Her exact words were - Don’t you dare get rid of the i8 for this! I always have my eye out for the next car, but I keep coming back to the i8. As others have said, it ticks too many boxes. It stills turns heads (including mine), it’s very comfortable and easy to drive, it’s a genteel cruiser in e mode and plenty quick in Sport mode. Mine has 13,000 miles on it and I swear it feels quicker now than when I first got it. I do most of my local driving in e mode and find the range sufficient for all of our shopping. I don’t think I have lost any e range at all in a nearly 7 year old car. My overall mpg right now is 50+. The combination of performance and economy is something I really enjoy. I am still very happy with the car.

McLaren Artura spider could be an interesting replacement for i8 roadster, if they ever build it…

I'm on my second one, started with a coupe, but than I found out that there are only 3k roadsters outhere, so that makes it exclusive and the numbers will continue to decrease with time.
McClearan still one of my favorites cars, but my i8 it's just awesome, with the exception of speed, it's got looks, I get complements everywhere I go, comfortable, enjoy driving by the coast with the top down and so much more. I am considering getting an extra car, probably aTesla Plaid just for the speed and because it has four doors for the groceries and taking the dogs to the park, there are no cars outhere faster than a plaid, and under150k you can't really go wrong with this.

same as you like McL very much but when i looked at running costs including warranty renewal and depreciation, i thought made no sense at all. I drive about 500 miles to 1k miles a year in my roadster and overall costs are negligible. I was looking at a 720s as an alternative and would have been close to $100k all in over 3-4 years.
