Well at least Aston have shown most of the actual car they are going to race which was nice, colour scheme does look better but I'm still not sure of the green they have chosen. It tends to look too dark in pictures and on the track which is a shame it should really leap out of the page.

Will have to see if they have tweaked it a little to make that happen this year, fingers crossed.

I love the AMR green but I do miss the pink striping over the highlighter yellow.

Wow the aston looks good, very intriguing design philosophy too. This former F1 engineer for mercedes analyzed it if you want more info:

Mclaren looks really nice too! But I think the side pod design isn't as agressive as aston, same as the front wing where aston employs alot of tiny tricks to generate vortices.

Looks like these two teams were the only ones with the courage to show their real design lol. I heard mercedes will do the same and actually reveal their 2022 car.

Yeah no problem, that's what I like to do watch about the technology in these cars. Seems like AMR put a crap ton of work into it. If I had to predict I would think AMR finishes ahead of mclaren this year, just looking at the early aero concepts alone. The side pod design is way more agressive on the AMR, the front wing tricks are more agressive on the AMR (look at the way the strakes are curved and the way it attaches to the nose so seemlessly that is some detail I never expected from aston), even the floor is more agressive. But mclaren is doing pull rod front suspension which is very interesting.

I am keen to see the mercedes and redbull to see what the real titans will be doing.

Wow that looks good, sounds good too. I wonder if mercedes will have the most amount of time to refine their engine because more teams will be running it so more data before the lock in date. If that is the case expect some spicy performance from merc, and AMR might be right up there too with their really interesting car.

I'm only half way through the video and pretty impressed with the amount of development for a first year car. The dual tea trey is really interesting. Lets see if it really gives them an advantage. The pull-rod front on the McLaren is interesting as the last few cars including Mclaren/Ferrari (2010 if I remember) did not have a very good front end and they reverted to push-rod.

The Aston does look more developed than the McLaren at this point. As you stated I really want to see what Mercedes and Redbull have come up with. The thing I love about rule changes is the engineering and different approach taken by each team. Lets see if any one comes up with a real game changer ala the Brawn double diffuser.

Yeah aston is so impressive right now, and the key thing is the side pod design and tea tray, those things will not be able to be changed mid season like a front wing could be. So they got the big bit down early, I am very curious to see how well aston does. Remember stroll said world champion in '22, '23, '24 so that would be epic if it happened lol.

The crazy thing is the brawn double diffuser was made by the same team that now is mercedes, and you have seen their constant innovation: DAS, squatting suspension, swept back rear suspension for better aero, narrow nose etc etc etc. They are the ones constantly making big innovations while the rest just copy, so I would not be suprised if mercedes came out with a huge game changing innovation once more. Mercedes are the quiet ones never talking super loud and you never hear rumours about their designs, but once they reveal it is major. So I am excited to see some cool engineering.

Mercedes development is incredible they truly think outside the box for solutions. As you stated the innovations that have made since they were Brawn is really impressive. As a Hamilton fan, I'm cautiously optimistic but believe they will at the front of the grid again. We can't forget that Newey has designed some incredible cars in his career,so lets see what Red Bull roll out. I still think its between those two teams.

Yup Newey has made some incredible cars, but we will see. I have heard alot about the monocoque redesign where the driver compartment is moved more forward. But again I am not sure if this is just redbull misinformation that is constantly propagated on this forum, or if it is legit. So we will see when we see. But imo RB has been stagnant since the exhaust blown diffuser days, literally they copied mercedes on their rear suspension design and narrow nose concept, so mercedes is doing something right.

But again this is totally new regs anything can happen. Maybe we are looking at AMR the 2022 constructors and drivers champion.

Could not agree more, and RBs cars other than 2021 have come out of the gate slow as well. In the case of 2021 MB came out slow, but they also did minimal development and got hurt by the regulation changes targeted at them. RB throws more "stories" and noise around than other teams, and brought out a mock up car. This is really starting to get interesting.

I have to say I love how aggressive the rear diffusers now look with the ground effects. These cars look 1000x better than I expected!

Yeah redbull seems to have a tendency to make mistakes in design. Then they just talk mad garbage about everyone else.

Yeah I love the 2022 cars too, I always knew it was going to look good from the moment I learned nose dimensions were up to each team, that was the only thing I was concerned about. Other than that these cars are sleek and very nice, and produce down force in a low drag manner which is what I like.
