I saw a trailer hitch installed and then a hitch mounted rack.

I would consider this rather than putting any pressure on the glass hatch as there have been some blow outs of the tempered glass resulting in expensive repairs.

Should be able to find the hitch/rack on google search.

hitches

The ecohitch looks nice. I would personally not use a rack mounted on the glass, or a hitch that did not use a skewer or wheel clamp. (no resting on top tubes if you have a carbon or a nice bike)

I had a contact at the dealer call BMW NA to ask how much of a hit it would be at lease return if there was a small hole in the rear bumper lower, due to the hole you'd have to cut to mount the ecohitch. They said minimum $600. If you're not leasing or you don't mind the hit, it looks like a good setup and hardly noticeable.

Another one is a seasucker hitch, but the carbon on the roof is somewhat flexible and I don't like the idea of accumulated fatigue and bending of the roof surface. The seasuckers work well also and are quickly removable.

Seasucker works really well, been using for years. Take a look.
