You can send an email to Michael at info@srz.ro and he can set you up with the BMW I8 exhaust kit, bolt-on version like the picture I posted. We didn't get everything in one place till we talk to him...we kept missing some cable, some ecu and so on....
They translated and send us the instructions in english.
I see several people here on the forum got their kits from him...

How do you like it? Does it sound analog or digital?

I wish I could find someone near Atlanta that has done this....

I really do like it. The sound is a little bit synthetic, but it's a MASSIVE improvement. Definitely worth the cost......which is much cheaper than an aftermarket exhaust system.

Now, if MaxHaust really wanted to take it to the next level.......downloable exhaust sounds would be awesome!

Have you tried asking a main dealer?

Also there's a specialist audio place in Bishop's Stortford

http://www.audiofile-incar.co.uk/aud...7-and-x-series

Who might be interested. I'm in the verge of getting Focals for the doors and I giving them the at may as well treat it to some good exhaust noise too. I find the synthesised noise too "tappy", unless of course I have an ICE issue!!

I live near Oxford and my office is in Green Park. Would really appreciate a listen once it's done please.

In terms of installing, any decent local stereo shop would be good or auto electrician. The places I know are a little further afield.

Or for fun you could ask North Oxford for a quote

I like the sound just trying to justify it. This is the first car I have ever owned that the sound is not real (I'm still getting used to that),and making it even more unreal is not something I am sure about yet.

Did you ask the Bishop's Stortford audio place for a quote:

http://www.audiofile-incar.co.uk

They said they'd quoted one i8 owner very recently.

I'm having them fit Focal front speakers. Seems like a decent place who know what they are doing with BMWs.

Hi - yes I got this:

Hi Lawrence,

I can’t quote on it as we are not supplying the kit etc. More than happy to do the job for you, I would guess at around 3 hours which is £216 but don’t hold me to it.

Kind regards,

Gary Hallwood

Which was a little vague; this issue is the inside panels; I have had my interior from and rear and rear boot/engine cover, recovered in Alcantara Suede and it was a big job to remove/replace the panels.

I've read this tread; very interesting! I drive my i8 now for almost 5 months and really want to upgrade the sound.

Anyone who knows a place in the Netherlands where a dealer or local audio shop can fix this with the active sound booster package for me?

Any suggestion would be appreciated!

To the people who have this installed,

When you are driving, do you notice a slight lag from the acceleration to the maxhaust sound boost?

I just got mine installed from a shop and I sometimes notice that they are a bit off beat.

You can try to work with th "idle" and "dynamic" levels from the app.
Eventually you'll set it right .
I posted my settings a page or two ago, maybe you can start from there.

Thanks man !

So yea after testing,

When my car is parked and I am reving the engine, the noise is in perfect sync. Even if I lightly press the gas pedal.

When I am in drive and drive about 10-15 mph, I don't hear anything

Is that normal ?

maybe your gas engine is not engaged ?
the speaker is activated only when the gas engine is on and at idle...when you're only in electric drive the speaker is not active....
when you have it in sport mode you should here it all the time.

Ohh that makes sense .

So when you're driving on comfort mode , if you're driving slow enough , the engine is not on correct ? That's why I'm not hearing it?
