You're not an F1 driver. You don't race your car on a track competitively. That analogy is entirely foolish.

Most of us by sports and sporty cars for entertainment and engagement. We don't care about lap times. We care about the sound, the experience, the enjoyment.

Auto gearboxes are fine for people who either (a) don't care about the mechanics of driving or (b) people who have given up on mechanics of driving or (c) people who drive for comfort rather than enjoyment.

I've had an Audi DSG gearbox in the past. It was good...technically good. And so so sooo boring. Can't imagine why people buy sports car with those Crappy Paddle gearboxes....my guess is modern laziness and indifference.

x100000. When I was looking into buying my ///M4, the salesman kept pushing the damned DCT on me. I told him I learned to drive on a stick, and have had nothing else for 26 years since I learned to drive. He just kept going on and on "But you'll get to 60mph .2 secs quicker!" blah blah.

I calmly explained to him I wasn't looking to gain tenths on the minivans and SUVs surrounding me on the highway. ;P

To each their own, but I think it looks fine. A BMW owner over at SupraMKV put it pretty nicely. This design is not catered towards the BMW crowd, aka most people on this forum. And vice versa, the G29 Z4 was probably not meant to appeal to most Toyota owners.

Anyways, back on topic. A few more pics from Spain.

Yeah but the problem for me is, I'm a MKIV owner since before Fast and the Furious and before the car skyrocketed in values (thanks always go to that movie lol). The Supra always has a place in my heart, and this thing just does absolutely nothing for me. I'd switch from BMW back to the Supra in a moment if the car had anything going for it, but this is just such a monumental let down. We gotta be honest here!

The fact they've dragged this on for SOOOOOO long with the damned camo is awful. The car already looks old, we're bored with it, and you can't even buy one yet!

With respect have you seen it in person? The A80 owners that saw in the UK with Tada-san had nothing but positive comments. We all know photos don't always do justice for xyz. There are some angles that aren't so flattering for the A80. All I'm saying is chill, relax, and try to reserved judgement until we see it officially debut.

Yeah it's been a long time. Other cars like the Chevy mid engine Corvette (aka Zora) has also been spied for the same amount of time.

Well I guess we can hope for the best. Seeing the car in person won't fix that autotragic gear box though. No 6MT, the car is dead on arrival to me.

Good news is that Tada san hasn't completely ruled out the possibility of a manual transmission for a later date.

Would be interesting if they offered a Lexus version for the luxury sport crowd.

^I do recall a Toyota executive from Europe not ruling out the possibility of a Lexus version of the A90 Supra.

Some crappy videos from Spain.

Why? I get it if you would just use it as a street car. Sure, manual can be more fun if you don't sit in traffic. However, at least give it a try when it arrives. You might like it after all even with an auto.

This no manual no care stuff, for any car, is really nonsense IMO.

I believe it will be a coupe only, but we have a guy going to Spain on the 18th for the test drive. I'll see if he can ask around.

A few more pics.

I have tried them, they suck. I don't care about beating out minivans for tenths on the highway, autos are boring AF.

Oh no, I forgot all about the targa. They can't even make it a targa at least? ffs

No targa, no "back seat", no manual. It is still a car, with a straight six. So they didn't f up everything.

The targa has always been a US thing. Most oversea Supras were hardtop. Tada san wanted the car to be more of a sports car, back to its 2000GT roots so no back seats. Again, Tada san has not ruled out a manual at a later date, but ok..

And more pics lol.
