Sorry, too lazy to even copy/paste this, but this is how I've been fighting tickets for years and with good results.

I hardly say anything at roadside; they hardly give a damn, and it's near impossible to talk yourself out of tickets nowadays anyway. Plus in this day and age, I'd probably get shot if I even so much as blinked the wrong with these damned trigger-happy corrupt cops.

Update
So after hunting down a local lawyer willing to go to court with me, it stands at me having to drive to Lake Charles for the court appearence. Lawyer said he couldn't haggle that part at all even though he tried. He will charge $750 to go to court with me. I'm assuming my chances of no points and lesser fines is higher if I have legal counsel with me in court?

That sounds a little steep.

Be glad you didn't get pulled over in Virginia. You can go to jail for that here. For reasons beyond my comprehension, anything over 80 mph or anything 20 mph over the posted speed limit, whichever comes first, is reckless driving...which is a misdemeanor here. People can and have gone to jail for that. Good luck though man. |

So I spoke with him over the phone. According to him, I should take a defensive driving course before my date, so that I can show it in court, showing that I am trying to better myself. The judge in court that day is a liberal judge and a good guy. However, he said that is no guarantee as the schedule can change and so can the judge's attitude. He also said that he cannot guarantee anything but will do all in his power to make sure that it does not get on my record. What do y'all think, should I stick with him or go elsewhere? He says he is more than happy to refund all my money if I back out and want to go with another lawyer, no pressure from him. However, he believes that if another lawyer told me that they could guarantee me victory would be lying through his teeth, given my case.
