Thank you but that mid-November/December money factor was so sweet - 0.192% after MSDs!

Any feedback on whether now is a good or bad time to lease in the MidAtlantic?

BMW is still running the 0.00111 MF (2.66% APR), 53% residual, and $9,900 incentive lease program. And dealers are still able/encouraged to discount another ~10%. So, yeah, I would say now is still a really good time to lease anywhere.

Consider a broker if you're open to it for the optimal deal.

I think it’s decent but would like to know if there are any red flags/concerns that I should be aware of. My first time leasing. Thanks!

Great score - well done. I just did the credit report for a 2024 iX with MSRP of $97,700 on 36/10K with only drive off at $930 per month. I thought I did well!

You did pretty well! The money factor was lower in Dec so it was easier to get an even better deal. I ended up taking another route at a higher money factor but am still happy.

The metric to really focus on is the total cost of ownership (TCO) over the period of the lease. It’s useful to know your way around a lease build sheet so that you have a clear understanding of what your total outlay will be.

The variables affecting TCO are MSRP, discount off of MSRP, any applicable incentives (some taxable, others not), money factor (effectively the APR that you’re borrowing $ at), lease length and annual mileage which affect the lease residual, how much $ you put down, any auxiliary fees (some dealers get shady and throw higher margin stuff in here eg PPF, ceramic coating, tints - so you need to look out for those if you don’t want them). So yes, the monthly payment is a key metric (affected by variables above, including MF), but it may or may not tell the whole story ie the TCO.

What do you mean with only drive off? First month and fees paid upfront? If so, I think you can do better than $930 per month. Basically, you should try to get 10% off MSRP which is possible on the West coast even without a lease broker.

Thanks. What I mean by "just drive off" is no money down or payment towards lowering the cost of the car. When I pick it up I am only paying tax, registration and first month lease payment. Again $96,700 car over 36 months with 10K milage at $930 (which includes tax) per month. Do you guys think I can do better?

Also if I have submitted a credit report but not signed any documents how obligated am I? I feel bad to say I want it and walk away.

Submitting a credit app just enables you to lock in lease programs for 3 months and doesn’t obligate to anything. As I mentioned already, you should try to get at least 10% off MSRP. Here is a sample lease calculator link with 10% off. I am not sure what your tax rate is but I think it’s around 9-10% in CA, so I used 10%. I used dealer fee and registration and title (government fees) numbers from my lease but those get paid upfront in your case, so won’t affect your monthly payment. Also, west coast lease program this month is pretty attractive - 0.0005 money factor and 54% residual for 36/10K. With all that I got $868 per month and if you do 7 MSDs (I highly recommend that you do), it will be only $808 a month. So, your $930 number is not so good in my opinion.

California taxes monthly, not upfront on the total lease payments like you have in the calculator. That change puts it at $832/mo with $4K due at signing. Sounds like his quote has less due at signing (acquisition fee and dealer fees rolled into lease?), so maybe $860-$880 for a true comparison. Still better than $930 but not as much of a difference as you calculated.

Thanks for catching this. Actually, it should be $868 a month and $808 with MSDs. My calculator link was supposed to include tax in the monthly payments but somehow it didn't. Here is an updated calculator link. I also fixed my original post.

Congrats !!! What was the MF? I seen a lot of brokers quoting 10-11% off MSRP but the MF is high - 0.00109 vs 0.00069. Also curious if many of the folks r getting the high 10% off without a broker.

I've got the lower MF. I was also curious about that but I tried three different dealers in the NY area over the past 4 weeks and despite aggressive haggling couldn't get them past 8%. Might be local market related.

I'm deciding between leasing a 24' in the next couple of months or custom order a 25'. Any idea when the 25' lease program will become available?
I pulled the lease numbers from Edumunds from 23' onwards. If last year's trend is to be repeated, looks like lease deals only get better after October. That's a long way out.
If I am looking at my numbers correctly, ix50's RV (10/36) changes between 53% and 54%. This seems a bit strange. I thought RV is always fixed. Did I get my numbers right?

Im in the same boat too. I'm thinking on waiting for the LCI and maybe the battery might be a bit better. Since interest rates will be going down and the the EV is in a slump, im thinking there will be more incentives towards the end of the year. Im not in a rush but I always figured that its easier to negotiate hard on a unit on the lot than an ordered car (unless u have some contacts or go through a broker) but most of the cars on the lot are all >100K and I didnt want most of the options thats added on there. Might as well wait on the sideline and see how this pans out
