my car sat at the factory after production on 12/12 for 7 weeks. Finally moved to the German port and now sitting there for another 8 or 9 days.
Will go to a dealer in Mississippi and I believe the port is in Georgia. Can’t believe this is normal. Will be lucky to get car by sometime in March at this rate |

Call BMW NA and ask for “Production Status”. They can give you that information when it is assigned to a boat - could be several weeks though. Best of luck with the waiting game!

Once you see the status change to “in transit” in My Garage, call either your dealer or BMW Genius and they will be able to give the info about the vessel your car is on. Also, keep in mind that the status changes to “in transit” one or two days after you car gets loaded onto a ship.

My car just arrived at the port. I have read this thread. Some waited days and some waited weeks before leaving the port. What about now? Is it better now? I live in the west coast.

I refused to accept the possibility but seems I'm in the dreaded at the port waiting game. I think it's been almost two weeks. There's a boat or two leaving this week so I hope to hear by the weekend that I'm on one but at this point I'm planning on not being in my car until at least mid april

I wrote to genius and spoke to them yesterday
My car has been released to the transport company today after getting to Brunswick this past Monday. Genius told me that it might be a few days before it actually is transported and then 1 day to dealer. |

I ordered Dec 27. It had a stop sale after I ordered. Lucky for me, a nearby dealer had exact same model with packages I wanted. I compromised on the color (originally ordered grey but got white) and my broker (autopia) helped me take deliver by Jan 15. Couldn't be happier.

I called the genius line earlier. He said no stop sales or issues, just a wait. Supposedly 2 weeks "is fairly normal" and he's seen cars sit for 5-7 weeks.

More features beats less features. Awesome news on the bird-in-the-hand.
