I absolutely, 100% love it. The first thing I love is that the engine doesn’t shut off when I open the driver side door to run into the convenience store with other people still in the vehicle. I never really understood that one on the iX. Secondly, I love the center console going all the way up to the dash. Everything is where it should be.

Aside from those two things, I absolutely love driving it. It’s a complete beast!

And no, this picture is not of me getting gas. I just took a photo of opportunity since the sun was beating down on it. It looks black most of the time.

Absolute monster… interesting about the dash, there needs to be a compromise in the future based on buttons, function and style. The IX maybe being bespokely ev- perhaps they took that to heart and showcased it in the interior. Maybe not for the best…

Tesla SuperCharging isn't open to BMWs until calendar 2025, so it'll probably be the 2026 model year cars that get NACS. I expect everyone else will need to use an adapter.

That quote equally describes the SAE J1772\CCS and SAE J3400 standards.

When will these new trim and M steering wheel options be available on the visualizer?

I wish they added a few new colors such as Isle of Man green and Marina Bay Blue

Won’t you be able to just modify the cords eventually? Like how people mod their engines 😬

Probably not easy. The J3400 uses the same conductors for AC and DC charging, so it needs an internal component that does the switching. By contrast, the J1772 and CCS use separate conductors, so no need for the switching.

That’s assuming they are shipped from Germany. Build completed 7 weeks ago and still sitting in Germany. Maybe they are waiting to replace part before shipping.

There are already adapters for sale. I don’t think people will be modding their cars to build in adapters per se but compatibility is possible apparently.

True but can’t we just use an adaptor? And if we use the adaptor does it transfer the power during charger at the same rate? I think an engineer who knows about this should chime in for bmw and explain if the super charger (Tesla) would work using an adapter like many state🔋

Yes, Tesla is already doing this with the Magic Dock. And, when the other automakers come onboard, Tesla or the automakers will provide an adapter.

They will likely be current limited, so the max charge rate may be below the car's max. For example, the Tesla Magic Dock is limited to 350A, so those can only charge at a max rate of around 135 kW.

That’s pretty good. I feel like Tesla owners rarely charge outside of the network. Think this adoption will lead to more spaces for Tesla outside the network? Tesla dominates the space used for outside makes to charge. Hope it improves on the flip side. Then stations can act more like gas stations.

Any idea what this M steering wheel will look like? Like a current X5/X6M or the nee 7series, 5 series steering wheel?

Wonder if lease prices will be similair to current 24 models

No way to know yet (on either account), my guess would be the same as what's in the i5 and i7, but who knows.

I can't imagine they're going to change the lease program, but I assume we'll see for sure in 2-3 days

Howcome you assume 2-3 days as opposed to a few weeks? If they dont change the leases then theyd lose any customers of ordering 2024’s

New financing terms are announced at the beginning of each month, so just a couple days away from today.

So does that mean we will be able to see the new ‘interior design’ option and M steering wheel?
