Special order colors....

I have yet seen anyone post about an E90 in a special order or "individiual" color. While I'm waiting for the 335 to arrive I was thinking about getting my 3, whichever one, in Intergalos blue. I was at the dealer today and the salesman told me for about $2500 I could get the special paint. Contemplating right now if it's worth it???...

That's not a bad price, I'd do it if I had the money. I'd definitely get all the options though before I got custom paint. I wouldn't get a 325i and then spend $2500 on paint when I could have a 330i instead. I would also get the sport and premium package before I spent $2500 on paint.

I am with you Nikki. A better engine or more option are things you will experience every day rather than occasionally feeling good about having a rare colour after the honeymoon with it has worn off. Unless you absolutely hate all of the standard colours, which would be a remote chance I would think.

I hate all of the standard colors except for Arctic. I like Sparkling Graphite, but I had that on my last car so I wasn't going to get it again. Based on looking in the brochure, when I thought arctic was just another silver, I really couldn't pick any color I liked on the car. There will be different colors next year though, they change them all the time right?

I ordered an individual paint as I wanted something that would look different from all the other E90's (and there are a lot out there). While you have to weigh this against more options, I think it is worth it. I suppose everyone has different preferences...

I think it's worth it too.

If I were to get an individual color, I'd get the Titanium Gray Metallic from the 5 series. Even under direct sunlight it remains very dark which is what I like.

Nissan and Porsche also make excellent dark grays. Nissan calls it Smoke and Porsche I think is Atlas Gray.

Interelagos Blue would be difficult since it is a //M color, and should be restricted to //M cars

Yeah, and at the same time "M" is also BMW Individual, and as long as it is an M specific color and special order only on regular series cars, I dont' think BMW cares all that much, that's why they're charging $2500 for it.

Some people say BMWs are a waste of money. I feel if you have the money and you want it, go for it.

That's funny that you say that clay, someone once told me a long time ago BMW stands for "Big Money Wasters". I don't believe in that but it's intersting none the less I guess?

Spending $45,000 on a Chevy Suburban is a Big Money Waster.

They do care, //M colors are generally restricted for the first few years of production to /M cars only

I was told that BMW Individual wasn't available in the US. Is this not true? Can you get custom interiors done as well?

E90-4Life, could you PM me or something and let me know what dealer you work with that allows the individual program? I'm a Socal native too (though I'm currently in DC).

Thanks!
