I believe that is the day that the stop sale was issued. I was negotiating for an M60 on the lot back then. I was ready to buy the morning of 2/3 and I was told by the salesperson that a stop sale hit the day before. I don't know what time dealers were notified but you probably got your car within hours, maybe even minutes, of it taking effect.

Because the stop sale service advisory wasn’t announced until February 2nd or February 3rd. Yours is most certainly included. Provide your VIN to your service advisor they will see if their system.

Here's hoping.

I called today and was told my car arrived to Baltimore on Tuesday and would, in an ideal world, be loaded onto a truck and be delivered to the dealer tomorrow but due to the stop sale she said it'd likely stay at the VPC until they're able to fix it.

She offered no timetable but did say a customer did call yesterday having the same question I had since their car was impacted by the stop sale but when she checked the system, it had been fixed and cleared. She mentioned how that gave her some hope that BMW would release more info soon if they've already begun fixing impacted cars.

Called my sales person yesterday and he said there was an incident in Germany where an iX was involved in a crash and the driver’s airbag didn’t deploy. Hence the stop sale, but BMW still have yet to determine the cause of whether it’s a software or hardware issue or if it’s just an individual event. Not sure if it is believable. Was thinking of getting my deposit back but then he told me he will try to get me a discount once the car is fixed…

Just curious, did he tell you how many were on the ground unsold. I wonder if these will be marked down when they eventually go on sale (if it takes long to address the recall), while those not a part of the recall like the 12, and the ones manufactured after Feb 1 may be in high demand because those are the only ones sellable, may demand a markup

Let’s not forget that it’s not just the iX on this recall campaign. All X1 SAVs produced during that same are also included.

This will take time to resolve but I don't understand the question regarding markdown. Why would they mark down the car? They cannot sell it until the recall is addressed. Once it's addressed it will be just like any other car that had a stop sell and then corrected the reason for the stop sale. The cars built after Feb 1 will take 6+ weeks to hit dealers so if you're on the east coast, you might get lucky and take delivery of one starting in mid March which, by that time, should already start seeing cars released from the VPC already fixed.

I meant a scenario where people start walking away from their orders because of the delays associated with the recall, that would increase unsold inventory which then could result in markdowns. Pure speculation on my part

I'd imagine there's people in line wanting their local dealerships to call them when inventory arrive that are from cancelled orders.

I'd imagine they wouldn't sit for too long unless you ordered something very unusual.

He did - I don't remember the exact number but I think it was in the 70's or so. That said, they were on the ground as still marked as new and I would assume a great deal were ordered and have owners waiting.

Except I think the lines are dwindling now, which is why I was speculating.
As an example I was able to order one at the start of the Month at a discount, and there were more allocations available. None of this will matter if they issues a fix soon

The BMW database shows the following for my VIN (which is subject to the airbag stop sale). Note that it says "remedy available." Hopefully this means some progress.

Yup, showed up on mine too; however, mine says “Remedy Not Available.” My service advisor just informed me that the part is still not available.

Yup mine says “Remedy Available”. Not 100% sure what that means but all of this tracks with what the Genius rep told me yesterday.

Chiming in as a X1 future owner impacted by the stop sale. I have gotten the same update only with “Remedy Not Available”.

Interesting. I can try calling BMW customer service later to see if they can provide insight on what the definitions are.

Mine also says remedy not available. My service advisor informed me the part is not available yet. Perhaps it’s tied to where your vehicle is registered and general availability of the new airbag. I will find out more on Monday.

grateful for these updates… despite being incremental, incomplete, and inconsistent across the community, it at least feels like a step in the right direction.

like others, i show up as now having a recall, but the remedy is unavailable.

What's everyone's status re their iX? My vehicle shows remedy available and I have a signed agreement for a unit on the ground (MA dealer). Wonder if that has anything to do with it (as opposed to those in transit or at VPC).
