Longest Trip Driven?
I am contemplating a 6 day trip that will, at the farthest point away, be 1100 miles. My first leg will be 600 miles and I will stay there overnight on business and drive the last 500 the next day. I will stay at that location for 4 days then drive the entire 1100 back in one day. (I have done 1000 mile days at least 50 times, but in sedans.)
Can anyone who has drive the i8 over 400 miles in one direction please chime in? Many thanks! MK |

I have done a 1000 mile round trip without issue - never charged the i8. With extensive freeway driving, I had no problem keeping the battery charged. As I typically do, I drive in comfort mode whenever I get off the freeway or drive thru towns with low speed limits, usually 95% electric. On the freeway, I drive in sport mode until the battery is charged, then switch to comfort mode with "hold charge" set. I find this get the best gas mileage, plus eliminates the piped in engine sounds.
I am headed out on an approx. 3500 mile trip on Friday. 1500 miles each way plus travel at destination. I am going to keep a log and share my experience. I am also bring my charger, though its unlikely that I will need it. |

I did nearly 1000 miles like this. 60+mpg according to the car during that trip. Shawn |
