Car not respecting the charge times

Hi I have a 2024 BMW ix xdrive50 I drive 8.5

I have a charging schedule that excludes 4pm to 9pm. Previously I used to make sure my charger never allows charging in this schedule. But later I removed it and let the car do it.

It worked correctly initially, but recently I am noticing otherwise. The car is charging during peak hours. Has anyone else had this same issue? I previously had this issue with charge forward that caused random charging but I removed myself from it.

Screenshots attached.

Is it possible the car is charging to make sure it hits the target by your departure time, regardless of the exclusion time.

Is it possible to set different charging times

For example on my Mach E I can set a charge zone for Monday- Friday and I different one for the weekends. My cheaper rates are 9 pm- 10 am during the week and 24/7 on the weekends.

Garage List
Could the preconditioning request trigger charging? Can you try it with preconditioning turned off and see if it behaves differently?

The only case that makes sense to me is if that charging day was Thursday (the screenshot has it labeled as "yesterday").
The reason is that you plugged in at 6:23pm and have a scheduled departure time for Thursdays at 6h30pm.

I don't use time slots to charge myself, but my understanding is that the car will ignore the time slot in order to have the car at the target charge you have set for a pre-planned departure time. So if this was all done on Thursday, the car thought you needed to have a 80% charge for 6h30pm and so it ignored the time slot. But if this wasn't on Thursday, and you haven't changed the settings, then I don't have an explanation.

If to you it is more important to only charge in the specified time slot, your best bet is to use a home charger that offers this functionality (who will have no idea at what SOC the car is and thus cannot use it in its own logic to override the time slot)instead of setting it up in the car as the car is known to override it on occasion and can possibly misbehave if your own example wasn't from a Thursday.

This is on a Saturday. So I don't have good idea why this is happening. I agree if this was on Thursday I can see why.

For now, I made my charger never send electrons during my high cost duration.

Agree, turn off any departure times or preconditioning, these cause confusion.

Just activate precon from the app when you need it.
