e35 first long trip.

As we approach our one month anniversary on 3/20, we have put in 1705 miles and today was the first long distance trip. We did 290 miles with a temp of around 43 and the last 60 miles at about 39. The AC was off most of the time except the last 60 miles. With the sun setting we needed some heat .. brrrr. We stopped at a EA charger enroute back and it was running only at diminished speeds, wife was not too impressed. She does not like hovering at charging stations waiting … 45 minutes later we were back on the road. I had to remind her that if had taken our ICE SUV we would have paid 60 in gas! I prefer free power/mileage. 😉

On the highway in moving traffic my speed ranged from 75-84. Drive in B mode in stop and go and D when moving.

Our vehicle came with the 19” AS

Did you pre condition before hitting the ea charger?

I set the gps to the location. I assume that is all I need to do. The highest rate I have ever seen is 110. Beginning to think I’m just seeing the wrong EA chargers 😀

Once you have gotten used to driving the EV on roadtrips, you gain confidence in the systems and only stay at chargers for a few minutes.

After five years of driving a full EV, we drive for about two hours, charge for 12 minutes, then drive for two more hours. Really shouldnt ever need a long/deep charge unless there are no more chargers on the route or destination.

so what you estimated was your range on your first leg of the trip ? or how many miles did you do in 1 charge? I have an e40, drive 90/10 City/Hwy and i estimate i'm getting from 100% (using bmw GOM) 239miles

For this trip I was tracking at 230. But no way I would have driven it to empty so I guess we will never know 😃. What size tires do you have? I am using the 19s. I have another trip where it was warmer and I was tracking 4.0 and was tracking 250 miles, I charged at 230.
