Due to the war in Ukraine several car manufacturers are forced to stop production due to shortage of parts produced in Ukraine. BMW, VW, Audi and Porsche are having parts shortage. BMW are stoping production in Dingolfing where all iX are being produced

Specifically relates to the supply of wiring harnesses which are obviously crucial components. Scaling production at alternative sites in other countries would require 3 to 6 months. BMW and VW are particularly hard hit since they don’t stockpile the harnesses. Instead they are delivered on-demand.

rumor has it that BMW is only going to build the first wave this year (the preorders people did on the BMWUSA site) after that production starts back in 2023.

It looks like the situation is much worse than first anticipated. BMW stop in production is for at least one week but probably much longer.

Looks like they've started again: https://www.reuters.com/business/aut...ts-2022-03-09/

So maybe it'll just be a two week delay.

My iX order has entered production (status 150) as of today..... Wee! My i4 M50 is still stuck at status 112 though.
