Drifting The M50

Saw this video. Almost made me laugh to think BMW would actually put out a video like this for the i4 M50!

Yeah, I picked mine up today and I won't be drifting a car that I paid 90 large for.

I wonder if this is a European feature. I turned DSC off last night, but didn't get a disclaimer screen. It still seemed to bite too good to drift. Wow, you finally got your car? Happy for you!

Why? Nice to see that BMW is trying to carry some of their sporty and "driving pleasure" DNA into the electric age. Apart from Porsche, nobody else really seems to do it.

I did a bit of drifting on an autocross course during a BMW Car Control Clinic in my i4 40eDrive. Drifting with a RWD is, I think, easier to do than with an AWD. And it is so much fun especially knowing you're not going to hurt anything (other than maybe a small orange cone or two).

I learned to drift when I learned to drive at age 16 in the snow with a RWD car ('56 Ford Fairlane) in an empty mall parking lot after dark when the mall was closed.

Here's a video of a BMW breaking a drifting record in a BMW M5 ICE. They went at it for so long they had another car come along while they continued drifting to give it more fuel (manually).
