Upgrade Question: i4 Standard Brakes to retrofit M Red Caliper Brakes
Seeking help from anyone who has access to the current full BMW Parts Cataloging system (or knows someone who does):
What I'm after, is trying to determine which (if either or both) of the following two Red Brake Caliper Retrofit Kits will work on an i4 that presently has the standard silver brakes. FWIW, the Rotors are different diameters and the Calipers themselves are also different. Very different in the case of the front brakes. It's not just a red paint thing. What I am looking for are the Parts Break-Downs of what Parts by Part Number are contained in each (or either) of the following Brake Retrofit Kit Part Numbers:

Thank you. I actually was able to find that bulletin, but thank you so much anyway.
The challenge I'm running into is that this bulletin does not list the actual part numbers that this Kit contains. Lots of good Pictures/Line Art and Labor Operation Codes, but unfortunately no Part Number detail. So, here is my dilemma. One On-Line BMW Dealer says (email to me) P/N 34108854026 is the "Recommended Kit" but it is not available now/yet. On the other hand, many other on-Line BMW Dealers list the following vehicles as valid recipients of kit P/N 34112450161 and this kit IS available presently. (Highlighting and Underlining is mine) BMW 230i Coupe: 2022 |

the kit that shows for i4 M50 on ETK per VIN is 34 10 8854026. I do not know exactly what is different between both these kits but the 026 is not currently available. 161 currently available and 7 in USA.

I just did a bunch of research. 161 part number is the M Performance brake kit for an M340i. the 026 part number is for only G26 BEV and from what I can see it includes the same exact part numbers as 161 except for all 6 caliper parts (front calipers, rear calipers and rear caliper brackets). The part numbers for all 6 caliper parts in 026 are the same exact parts as those for an i4 M50 option 033T car with High Performance tire package and 20" wheels. If you already had 033T all you would need to complete the M Performance upgrade would be to buy 4 new M Performance rotors. The calipers are technically different but they are already accommodating of the M Performance rotor size. If you have base silver brakes you would need the 161 part number to install everything new and to account for larger rotors and calipers and brake shields. Please PM me as I see you are in Southern California.

So here is what I've been able to come up with. The below image and spreadsheet provide a cross-reference for the 161 Kit, the 026 Kit as well as the original hardware presently used on the e40 and the M50. The only real questions that I have at this point would be:

2. BMW has done that before where slotted and dimpled come in the kit but not on the car. They did this with the F3x brake kit. I had one on my E90. Could be because those slotted and dimpled rotors make noise atow speed. 3. BMW would know.
