New Tires for the i8 (Pirelli P zero)

After close to 12,000 it is time to get new tires for my i8. The tires are shot and it appears that the rears are a bit more worn out than the front.

Curious to hear thoughts on the Pirelli P-Zero tire for the i8. Has anyone logged significant miles on them - if so could I get your thoughts?

Also curious if anyone knows what BMW will charge if I return the car at the end of the lease with slight larger tires (if I was to go the Michelin pilot sport 4s route) than what she came with?

Thanks,
Jeff

i've got the Pirellis, standard sizes though, i'd say as good as the originals if not better. seem to give better fuel economy and are slightly quieter and slightly more supple, depends what you like in a tyre

I switched to P Zeros about 3k miles ago... all good, no issues here. Seem to grip well and provide a quiet ride.

Havent had any issues, no discernible difference to be honest. They are a slightly more supple tyre though so give a marginally better ride and a slightly softer feel through corners, but they do keep gripping!

Have replaced the Bridgestone S001s (had two sets worth) with the Pirelli P Zeros in OE size and now have 3k miles on them.
Coming from someone who is sensitive regarding air pressure let alone brand/model.. these Pirellis are just about the same as the OE Bridgestones. Essentially indiscernible.

Only thing I noticed that the Pirellis were ~$400 less a set.

Thank you all for the information and thoughts. How many miles were you able to get on your Bridgestones? I will likely give the P-Zeros a try.

No mileage yet but the grip level I find discernibly better, especially with tires warmed up.

Two sets of the Bridgestones got me to 32,000 total miles. Mixed highway/city driving.
