Emission Warning Indicator

Curious if anyone has seen this issue. My emission warning signal recently came on in the main instrument display. The symbol looks like an engine, but according to the owner's manual, it indicates an emissions problem (e.g. with catalytic converter). Odd thing is it's being displayed even if I am driving in eDrive mode. Also, when I go to vehicle status to check for any problems, the iDrive indicates all systems OK.

Any ideas before I take it into the dealer?

First thing which comes to mind is check that your gas cap is secure.

If that doesn't work, gas up and that usually fixes.

Well, I opened and re-closed the gas cap, with no immediate effect. But a day later, the warning light went away. Hopefully it was something that simple.
