Drop in charging power on L2 beyond 90%?

I used for the first time an L2 charging station today to charge-up the batery to the max. It charged at 5.7 kW until 90% and then gradually dropped to around 1 kW.
Is that normal? Is this like computers and cell phone where the last % takes more time to avoid over charging the battery?

BTW yes I'll get the update at the next inspection to make sure I can charge to 7.4kW

That is entirely normal. And, depending on the ambient temp and the battery pack's temperature, it might delay charging at a high rate if it feels it needs to cool things down first. If things are cool enough, it will charge at the full rate even with the inhibit software (mine normally does, but right now, my outside thermometer is showing 1-degree F, so yes, it's typically colder than CA!).
