There are threads on here regarding this. I think the range extension is due to a system reset, which eliminated your e-driving history. Chances are the range will go back to your personal "normal" levels, once you're driven a little.

Don't the windows roll down automatically when they encounter too much resistance on the way up? I'd think that's sufficient safety.

Also, it seems silly: you can't roll up your windows remotely, but you can start your engine remotely to warm up the car (in the North and Midwest, anyway). That's not only more dangerous, but also environmental nonsense.

For years BMW commercials and written materials have chided Americans to fasten their seat belts, not speed, and do or don't do any number of things BMW's terrified lawyers have thought it would be wise to warn everyone about.

Does anyone know if the software for the heads up display can be updated to display the ICE engine RPM like on the new 2019 i8’s when in the Sport mode?

I can 100% confirm that it cannot be upgraded.

Well... that’s disappointing.
Thanks.

Hi Jas, I know you've spoken to the engineers on numerous occasions so asking do you know if it is the case that it "cannot" or just "won't be" upgraded?

If it can't be upgraded, any idea why not? I can think of a few reasons such as network segregation on the data buses, security etc...

Cheers.

Effectively, it doesn't matter...

Sadly, it is "cannot".

The reason being the hardware is incapable of it, unlike the hardware in the newer models.

They actually forgot about the gear indication, and did not notice the gaping "hole" in the middle of the RPM gauge in Sport too. That also cannot be fixed. HUD also cannot be updated.
