Reving engine while in neutral?

I've seen several videos of people reving the i8 while in neutral or parked but don't know how to put the car in neutral while in sport mode to do that. Can anyone explain?

It doesn’t need to be in sport mode. In comfort if you’re in neutral and put your foot on the Accelerator I believe the engine turns on

True and it's not terribly impressive.

It’s entirely the wrong car fir anyone who wants to impress bystanders by revving the engine. Even conceptually it misses the point of the car.

That’s why we have Lambos and Ferrari’s.

Nope!

Pressing the accelerator while in neutral (in Comfort) doesn't rev the engine for me!

...and I see now way to put the car in neutral while in sport...

Perhaps I'm doing it wrong?

1. Car in Comfort. Check!
2. Tranny in neutral. Check!
3. Pressing accelerator pedal. Nothing!

Probably doesn't matter but I have a 2019...

So, "Pressing the accelerator while in Neutral in Comfort" DOES NOT start/Rev the engine! (At least not for me in my 2019...)

I'm trying to test a new Maxhaust Sound Module and I too would like to know how to rev the engine in neutral.

Anyone know of a technique that actually works?

Did you try accelerating all the way down to the floor? I just tried it and it turns on the ICE. I usually only switch it to sport in the morning for a second and then the motor turns on and stays on for a little while even if I go back to Eco or comfort. I figure it’s good for the ICE to warm up in case I need it on my short commute to work.

Yup, all the way to the floor. I held it there for a bit. I also tried pumping the accelerator.

Nothing.

Maybe its something different with the 2019's?

Why not put it in park and rev it? Works fine that way

Nope. That doesn't work either...

In my 2019 I have found no possible way to force the engine on other than putting her in sport mode. ...and in sport mode, there is no neutral or park.

I haven't tried turning ON the iDrive "hold charge" function. So maybe that might help force the engine to run while stationary in Comfort mode....
