i4 M50 color options

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
What do you think about the color options ?

I'm torn between Sanremo green with M seats, Leather 'Vernasca' in Cognac decor stitching | Black, red coloured brake calipers or Frozen Portimao Blue in Black/contrast stitching Blue, and blue coloured brake calipers

Wouldn't the Frozen color require extra care, and would probably be more delicate right ? But then again, the car would be more unique as that color comes with a pricetag.

I can't figure out if the blue color makes the car look like a teen boy fast and furious

Which color do you root for ?

Sanremo green looks more sophisticated 007 James bond right ?

I like the blue one a lot, but a frozen colour like this is a nightmare to keep clean unless you put on x-peel or something equal on it to protect the paint, and that is another huge cost on top of the individual colour i am not sure its worth it.

So in this case the green would be my choice, easier to maintain and it looks freaking good, The only thing about the green is i think its very hard finding a good match for the wheel options to make the rims look like it belongs on the car so to speak again rims are always possible to change but so is x-peeling a car....And they tend to cost a lot to change also.

I went with a "safe" option the Brooklyn grey but will always look with "jealousy" on anyone who dares to go with the frozen blue.

Brooklyn Grey is also a nice color, have you seen it in person ?

Regarding the Frozen blue, I was warned that it can't be 100% restored by a painter in case of damage. The dealership also told that the frozen colors needs to be hand washed - it does not seem to be worth the trouble.

I am torn between Brooklyn Grey and Mineral White. It is so hard to decide

Regarding your 2 choices, I think the green color looks stunning in normal lightning. But in direct sunlight, it can be too much green for my taste.

The frozen blue looks great. But the maintenance issue, and maybe longer wait because it is an individual color would make me choose the green instead.

Would probably also fade as years pass by

Look at these stunning pictures from the 4 series with ceramic coating, got them from a facebook group.

Yes i have seen Brooklyn Grey it is a real nice colour on the car, never seen it on the 4er like this but on the M versions.

Yeah i think the frozen colours are for the brave souls out there who dares to go with it, as i have said i will always look with a little bit of "jealousy" on those whomever choses that colour for the car.

I was pretty stuck on the Portimao Blue for the i4 M50...wasn't going to do the Frozen, just because of the upkeep.... until I saw some pics of the San Remo Green.... that looks stunning.... just need to decide on the interior... probably will go with the brown... or maybe red.

I'm going for San remo with cognac and black leather Dash (4M5), as I chose the M seats (711). only black or cognac are available according to my dealer.

I bet that will be a fantastic combo..... I'm optimistic that the options in the US will match at least somewhat with the Canadian order guide that was leaked recently.

I'm waiting for US guide, but I'm going for Tanzanite Blue with Cognac M seats.

I cannot imagine anything else than Sunset with Shadowline/MSport over Cognac or Canberra in my garage...ok, ,maybe the new purple being shown on the new 2 Series, if they offered it. I am so tired of dark or non-color colors.

I have a tesla model 3 that I wrapped in liquid copper because the paint was so bad, so I can't see myself in back to back orange cars, but I really do dig this a lot.

Possibly the best-looking Tesla I've seen and with the highest quality finish!

Nothing wrong with color continuity if you like it. I'm keeping my Valencia 2 Series when I replace my 330GT with a Sunset i4, so there will be an almost-matched orange set in the garage. Don't think I can get my wife to make it a trio with hers.

thanks! I hate everything about this car other than the straight line speed, so I can't wait to get into something better. If they open individual colors, I might consider long beach blue, that's my favorite color on the M2

If you compound it, it turns glossy. Only option for scratches is a panel respray.

I had Sunset Orange on my M140i so wanted something different. Brooklyn Grey seems to only be available on a few models compared to most of the other colours so it should be quite exclusive.

That's fine and I was teasing.

Must admit, I don't get the appeal of the "non-color" colors when there are still red, blue, green, and orange again, but it's completely subjective, of course, and similar to not understanding why anyone would prefer vanilla ice cream when the world is full of chocolate!

Is x-peel something like pfp protection? I have heard of pfp before and how it can make upkeep easier for matte paint, but not x-peel...

Any info on the difference and which one is better appreciated !!

(and yes I am leaning towards frozen portimao blue. Arctic racing blue would have been my first choice by far, but no they don't even offer this color for the i4...)

It's x-pel.
It's paint protection film.
it would have to be done like a full wrap on matte paint. If it's ever removed I can't see how it won't damage the matte surface.

if anything get the gloss color you like then do a matte wrap. I can't see buying a matte car, but that's just me.
